Probably about a 3.5 for me. There are a couple small tables for dine in, but this is basically a grab and go location. Lots of Detroit pizza varieties. I find most of the combos to be a bit salty, but I guess Detroit style pizza and pizza overall is sort of a salty food, so not really a complaint, just a comment to note. Their crust is good, holds up well, travels well, reheats well. Not too dense, not too light, nice crusted edge, not too much chew, or too hard. Maybe stop listening to me and go try it yourself! The music is pretty loud there, but if you are just there for a few mins to grab pizza to go, it doesn't really matter. Nice option downtown to grab a quick pizza for lunch or after work.

The people working there are quick and awesome. The pizza was tasty and everything there looked equally as amazing. I am definitely coming back for sure. The restaurant is right in the downtown area which makes this place great to sit down and get a good quick bite with some friends before a movie or during shopping.

If Detroit-style pizza were a muscle car, Joyride Pizza would be a fully restored '69 Camaro--punchy, well-built, and an absolute thrill to experience. This place isn't just coasting on the Detroit name; it's firing on all cylinders. The crust? A perfect mix of soft and crispy, like the perfect suspension that mollifies the ride but still lets you feel the road. The Pepperoni Honey is a turbocharged classic--crispy-edged cups of pepperoni with a drizzle of spicy honey that adds just the right amount of kick. My personal favorite is the pesto chicken pizza (extra chicken is 3 bucks more, but worth it imo). The vibe is modest but still pretty cool--no unnecessary frills, just great pizza done right. There's usually only one person working there solo-riding. Pizza comes out on the order of 5 minutes or so. Whether you're grabbing a quick pit stop or settling in for the long haul, Joyride is built for performance and comfort. Final verdict? This one's built to last. Whether you're a pizza purist or just looking to switch lanes from your usual slice, Joyride Pizza is a ride worth taking at least once. (Did I fit enough car-related puns into this one?) :)

Been to the Yerba Buena Joyride a few years ago for Yelp Elite Event. We saw on Yelp that they have since expanded to a more to go type spot on Market (and open late). Very small sitting area, pumping music was too loud, not good for conversation. Pizzas are displayed behind display case. Order via kiosk, one guy working hard making all the pizzas. Full size ($27-30/each for 6 squares), Personal size (half, 3 squares). Shared a full size Garden Goddess + added chicken and bacon with dear husband. Man the ricotta cheese was too rich for me. I forgot Detroit style doesn't have any sauce, it's more dough-y. Edges were crispy but little oily. Still as good as I remembered.

I actually stumbled upon this spot randomly while walking in the area, and had to try it. Didn't look a single review prior; I just took a leap of faith. I got a cheese slice, and it's easily one of my favorite D-Style slices I've ever had. It's fluffy, the ingredients are well balanced, and worth trying. In regards to the service, it's a spot you have to order and pay at a kiosk, then they just give it to you, so it feels a bit 'impersonal', but such is life these days with most things. There are a few spots to sit and eat at, but it's not a true 'dine-in' spot, so don't expect to show up with a large pizza party. The cheese slice was just over $7, so it might be in your best interest to get an actual full pizza for the sake of value. Overall, it's a good pizza, and worth trying! Very impressive for the D-Style-In-California category!

Finally found legit Detroit-style pizza in SF! Joyride Pizza absolutely nails it with their perfectly crispy, caramelized cheese edges and that signature thick, airy crust that Detroit-style is famous for. The pepperoni pizza is a standout - those crispy-edged pepperoni cups curl up just right, creating little pools of flavor that complement the robust tomato sauce. What really sets this pizza apart is the layering - cheese goes right to the edges of the pan, creating that amazing crispy cheese crust that Detroit-style pizza is known for. The proportions are spot-on: generous but not overwhelming, letting you actually taste each component. Pro tip: Those corner pieces are gold! The cheese caramelizes against the pan creating this amazing crunch that pizza dreams are made of. Great addition to SF's pizza scene. Will definitely be back to try their other offerings!

If you're looking for good pizza, this place is it! There's a display case with all the different choices that you can choose from, though for some reason there are some items that they offer in person, but not online when you're ordering a take-out order in advance. Nevertheless, when you arrive, there are a few bench seating outside and a few more 2-tops and counter seating inside, not a whole lot of space if you have a large party. When ordering, it's all on your own with the touch screens; the workers are mainly there to make the orders, not necessarily take the orders, though they do help out if you flag them down with a question or two. The orders are made quickly and efficiently. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bacon Me Crazy pizza. Crisp crunchy-cheese crust on the outside, with just the right amount of toppings. That Blood Orange Soda is everything! The only miss on this visit were the garlic knots and cinna knots. The garlic knots didn't come with marinara sauce as we had thought, same with the cinna knots and lack of that side of choc chip cream cheese. In addition to that, the garlic knots were way too salty for my palate and the cinna knots had an interesting herby star-anise aftertaste to it, I can't put my finger on, though I also didn't care for. Other than that, I would definitely return again to try out the different flavors of pizza they offer! PS - The Lark next door serves this pizza too. Looks like they have a partnership which I think is super smart in terms of covering food cost and labor.

After a day at the Giant's game, we were heading to Bart when we decided to stop in for a slice of pizza from Joyride Pizza. The selections of slices were fresh and brightly colored and it smelled spectacular. I ordered the cheese pizza and had them add artichoke hearts, arugula, extra cheese and olives. The inside of the establishment is very small and with a party of 6, we were advised we could take our food next door (or they could deliver when done) to the nearby bar and enjoy our slices and drinks. The crust was thick with a crunchy crust on the bottom and the inside of the crust was soft and cooked perfectly. The arugula was a wonderful addition which added a bite to compliment the rich flavor of the cheese and the zestyness of the artichoke heart. The sauce on the pizza was not put on too thick and heavy, it was just right amount. The 3 slices of pizza we ordered (there were 3 of us) were put in 1 box and when my niece and I were done picking at our slices, my Hubby managed to finish our discarded crusts and the lingering olives and arugula leaves. Just until recently, we did not have anything in our area resembling this type of pizza. I am a fan of thick crust and this pizza spot made me a super-fan. I even spoke about taking Bart out to grab a slice, it's that good/ By the way, the staff was very nice and friendly and pleasant. Great Job!
